    Boyne Area Senior Center, 411 E. Division St., is open to the public for daily lunches. For seniors age 60+, the donation is $3, for ages 60 and under. $6. For daily information call 582 6682.

  • SENIOR CENTER DINNERS
    Boyne Area Senior Center is hosting night meals instead of lunches on Wednesdays. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and serving continues until 6. Please join us for this endeavor and have dinner instead of lunch every Wednesday. Entertainment will also be provided each Wednesday.

    United Way, Habitat for Humanity and RSVP invite you to the first Day of Action Volunteer Fair on June 21. Interested non-profits and service groups are invited to register for the free event by contacting Lisa at United Way at 231-487-1006 or adminassistant@charemunitedway.org. The Volunteer Fair will be held at the Community Reformed Church on from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Check us out on Facebook.

  • Retiring Well
    The First Presbyterian Church of Boyne City will sponsor a free community seminar, Retiring Well, on Saturday, June 21 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Retiring Well is a four-session seminar designed to help individuals in understanding changes to healthcare, estate planning, the importance of having a will or trust and using annuities to support retirement activities. The seminar will address these important life issues and provide potential solutions. "While labeled as a retirement planning seminar, this seminar is for people of all ages and can help anyone plan for a secure future," said Larry Mattox, FPBC Outreach chairperson. Each session will last an hour and include a break for a light luncheon. Session topics are:

    * 9:30 a.m. - Changes in Healthcare
    * 10:45 a.m. - Services for an Aging Population
    * 11:45 a.m. - Free luncheon provided by the church
    * 12:15 p.m. - Living Wills, Power of Attorney, Wills and Trusts
    * 1:30 p.m. - Annuities for Retirement

    Attendance at all four presentations is encouraged, but all are welcome to attend only a segment of the presentation. There will be no sales presentations. For additional information, call the church at 231-582-7983. Reservations are encouraged.
