United Way Elects New Board Members


Five new members were recently elected to the Board of Directors of Char-Em United Way.

Bob Alger, Administrator at the Char-Em Intermediate School District; Therese Green, Director of Community Health and Wellness at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital; Joel Schraw, Attorney at Law; and Marty Van de Car, Community Development Manager of the Odawa Casino Resort all were elected to three-year terms. Betsy Britton, Financial Advisor with KorthaseFlinn, was elected to a two-year term.

"We are very pleased to welcome these new board members to join us," says Bob Carlile, President of the Board. "They augment an already strong and conscientious board. Over the past year, our Nominating Committee has reviewed the strengths and gaps in our current membership and targeted a number of areas for recruitment. These new members bring a diversity of experience and reprsentatation of various sectors of our donor and community base."

The new directors joined Bob Carlile, Jennifer Archambault, Steve Andreae, Barb Perreault, Joanne Curtis, Doug Hall, Jennifer Rekasi, Jim Rudolph, Karen Sherrard, Kendall Stanley, Dena Sydow, and Dee Vincent who are continuing or were reelected to new terms.

Officers for the coming year are: Carlile, President; Andreae, Vice-President; Perreault, Treasurer; and Archambault, Secretary.
