A chili dinner benefit fund-raiser for Gene Farley, who is recovering from hear surgery, will be held to 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Boyne City Eagles Hall, 106 River St. A Silent Auction will be held and Northern Nights will entertain. "Gene and Gail are always the first to step up when others need a little help," organizers say. "Lets all pitch in. See you on Sunday for chili. He's mending from his heart surgery but it's going to be a long road."

Musicians and music lovers are invited to join the fun as Gail Gerrie and Master fiddler John Richey host the Boyne Sunday Session featuring Celtic and folk tunes and Songs at Local Flavor bookstore at 125 Water Street. from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17. Musicians are asked to bring their own stools or chairs. The session is held the first and third Sunday of every month. There is no charge for this family-friendly musical event that features some of our region's finest Irish, folk, bluegrass and old-time musicians. Details . . .
