The announcement that the "Citizen and Journal" was no longer going to be published caused first shock and then sadness. I realize that publishing can be expensive, but a newspaper is a reflection of a community. I have been buying the Boyne Citizen for years and have read ancient issues on microfilm and on paper. It tells the story of a community and the people who made it happen. Without it part of our history would be lost.
I have toyed with the idea over the last several years of creating a community bulletin board, giving public announcements, items for sale, etc. Maybe this is the time for me to put that idea into substance.
